Fish Fare Fantastically at Glasgow
Wednesday, 27 May 2009
The Fish went up to Glasgow this weekend to play in the excellent Tartan Tournament. We faced a tough 6 game Saturday with an 8:30am start! We found our fins and picked up where we left of on Sunday morning after a (not too) heavy Saturday night in the bar / hotel room!
In a ten team tournament we found ourselves placed fourth after the round robin section and faced the top team Chaos in our Semi Final.
To say it was a nailbiting experience would be putting it mildly - and only a few unfortunate happenings in one inning stopped us from making it to the final!
The FEEEEEEEEESH played brilliantly this weekend - and we welcomed five new members to our pond! Carpet Shark, Batfish, Nemo, Clam-ity Jane and Dozy Sole.
Here's a video of the action from the Saturday.
Fish Do Well At Glasgow

The fish took a clutch of newcomers to the squad up to Glasgow for the Tartan Tournament last weekend. A tough first day playing some very experienced teams like the Chaos, Saltires and Rally Caps gave us a real edge when it came to the Sunday games. The slippery fish managed 2 wins in the morning to secure a place in the final of the Hunterian Cup against the Legends.
A very hard fought game ended with the Fish coming out on top and taking home a very shiny trophy and some sweet, sweet victory beer!

What happened to the rest 2007? I know one minute we were enjoying the final flings of summer down at the Solent Tourney down in Southampton, then it was suddenly Christmas and now here we are at the very end of February with our sights set firmly on the 2008 season.
On the horizon we're looking at taking part in the same tournaments as we wanted to last year namely...
...although Dave and Di have got their work cut out for them as Kate and I are going to have our hands full with our new arrival from August. Hopefully Glasgow will be enough to get it out of our systems for the rest of the year.
